Everyone and their dog thinks they know what a classic aeroplane-style flanger sounds like, but with the Flat Light Textural Flange Shifter, Old Blood Noise Endeavours will make you think again. This stompbox supplies three different modes, each with a totally unique character so you're assured of hours upon hours of solid flanging joy. In Detune mode, an octave is added to the effect and, via the Range pot, you can tweak it to plant the octave above or below the played note. In Resonate mode, feedback is injected into the signal, giving your flanger effect everything from a more subtle chorus-style edge to a totally freaked-out response. In Echo mode, some delay is thrown into the mix to create an even more unique effect and, in the meantime, the Tilt footswitch on the left can be hit to push the Rate or Shift pot setting all the way up to maximum (set the function via the internal dip-switch) so the sound can be taken to extremes, putting a hair-raising momentary effect within hands-free reach. From every angle, you're looking at a truly ingenious take on the flange concept.
